Rocky Mountains, A City View is part of a series of sketches developed on canvas. I really enjoyed working on such a large space and how the division of space gives so much grandeur to the Mountains. This series features soft grey backgrounds that enhance the quiet nature of the artwork; in contrast to the majestic shapes of the mountains, the detail is in the color and the shadows. I hope you have an opportunity to see this work in a gallery setting as it displays beautifully on soft neutral wall colors, or against contrasting dark colors.
