Sheila recognizes the importance of creativity in her daily life; art has pushed her to grow, challenged her to learn and inspired her to paint.  The art created today influences the projects of tomorrow.  The creative process includes working from memory, with broad ideas.

Acrylics are her medium of choice as they allow her to layer with transparent and translucent glazes.  Working with colours that play nice together provides a unique visual up close and makes each painting uniquely original.

No matter the weather; people come out of their homes to walk along the river.  On this day; the neighbourhood girls got off their bikes and were using a log to get across the wetland.  I wasn't fast enough to capture them on the log with my camera but the memory was worth the effort to paint.  Much of my artwork is about keeping memories alive.  I recently noticed the log has broke in two; I guess the girls will have to find another 'log crossing'.
