Artist Statement

My art explores the atmosphere and light that defines the Canadian landscape, from my Maritime roots to my home in Alberta. I 'm drawn to the way light 'gets lost and then found' within the foliage and use an impressionist approach to create depth in the layers.

I am passionate when exploring colours ; loving each layer as they develop with transparent washes and bold opaque strokes, building textures with each pass.
