Getting it all Ready
Artist Getting Ready
Doug Swinton recently included in his newsletter the following statement;
'Contrary to the common stereotype of artists as slackers, Artists are incredibly industrious and hard working'
These are words from someone who knows that getting ready for an Event is more than completing a painting or two. Once the artist makes that decision to 'stop'; as in don't touch that canvas with another brush stroke; the real work begins. A little time is spent on scripting the signature, photographing the art in proper lighting, cropping the image; uploading the image; write about what inspired the artwork, apply the finishing coatings, make a trip (or two) to pick a framer, purchase frame and hardware and then back to the studio to get the tools out. Assemble the artwork in the framing, install the hardware on the back, write an artist statement, and attach a bio sheet, and wrap it for protection. Deliver it to the venue, attend the Exhibition. One painting at a time.
