In early August a call went out to local Artist in Calgary, asking if they'd like to help the Flood Victims from this summer's flooding; the money raised would be donated to the Red Cross.  Like most Artist; you don't have to ask me twice to paint. So it seems true for the other 400+ responses and the pieces of artwork began to be dropped off at designated spots.  Each Artist painted their vision of an Alberta Rose.  Eighty one of those were mounted on a board, and framed to create one large piece of artwork.  In fact, because so many artist participated and donated a 4x4 painting there were enough 4x4 pieces of artwork to create 8 finished products; each framed, each different because of the artwork that they contained.  Now the fun begins, those 8 large framed pieces of artwork will be auctioned off; in a live auction this week - August 28th 6:30 pm at the Hotel Art in Calgary.  This would be a wonderful display for any Alberta company to have in their office building.  A show of Alberta Pride and a wonderful way to contribute to the Red Cross and the Flood Victims - I hope you'll consider getting tickets to this event (available online  http://www.thealbertafloodroseproject.com/tickets.html)  The Artist will be in attendance and we'd love to see you there too!

My little painting is in row 5 from the top, 4th from the right side!
