Fresh eyes, is the ability to look at something and have a first impression.    When painting fresh eyes are needed; to stay on task,  and make good decisions about  a painting; right to the end.  I often find that if I ask the right questions I can find the path needed to create a good painting.  Often it is the fundamentals like colour temperature, value; the lights, the darks, how they move through the painting.  Are the values in high contrast or is their a gradual flow of value in the right places, are the warms with the warms, the cools with [...]
