Fresh eyes on my own artwork
Fresh Eyes
Fresh eyes, is the ability to look at something and have a first impression.
When painting fresh eyes are needed; to stay on task, and make good decisions about a painting; right to the end. I often find that if I ask the right questions I can find the path needed to create a good painting. Often it is the fundamentals like colour temperature, value; the lights, the darks, how they move through the painting. Are the values in high contrast or is their a gradual flow of value in the right places, are the warms with the warms, the cools with the cools, is their depth? What was the intention? These choices are what creates original art.

I often say one thought leads to another thought. Making choices after each addition. There is a process. Read on, to my other blogs to find out what I've learned as a self taught artist and what I've taught my students about creativity.
Art is the Only way to run away; without leaving home!
